Coupons.com Virus

I keep reading on couponing sites that there is a virus over at Coupons.com. I've been printing my coupons through Swagbucks and haven't noticed anything, but I'm not sure where the virus is coming from. You may want to avoid printing from Coupons.com and affiliated sites until the issue is cleared.

***Update: It seems like everyone who has been affected says a screen pops up that looks like your antivirus program telling you your computer is infected, and then if you proceed to download something to "remove" the infection, you actually become infected. If something like this pops up, close the window and make sure to scan with your legitimate antivirus program.

New link for Home Made Simple Coupon book

There's a new link for the Home Made Simple Organize in Style coupon book. Fill out the form and you should receive a book filled with P&G coupons. I just received my book from last time I requested one. My favorite coupon is for $1/1 Dawn Hand Renewal, which means free (nice) dish soap.

Watch Kroger's Facebook Page!

If you're not already, become a fan of Kroger on Facebook to see when they post new Game Day Greats Gridiron Giveaways. Yesterday you could load a coupon for a free 12-pc chicken wings to your card, today you could load a free party tray coupon. It appears the coupons need to be redeemed by 2/7.

Also, check out the Kroger Game Day Great Sweepstakes for a daily chance to win free items loaded to your card.

Great Cellfire Promotion

If you have a Cellfire account, make sure you log on tomorrow (1/27) between 1:00 and 5:00 PM (EST) for a coupon worth $0.50, $1, $2, or $5 at Kroger. Last time they had a promotion like this (sometime before Christmas, I remember something Santa related), I won a $5 coupon. If you don't have an account yet, sign up now and register your Kroger Card. Tomorrow when you log in, you'll have to click on the coupon and load it to your card. Totally worth saving at least $0.50!

If you aren't familiar with Cellfire, "Cellfire offers digital coupons that can be saved directly onto your grocery club card from the web or your mobile phone." You need to register with your cell phone, but after that you can choose to load all of your coupons from your computer. It's nice to have another place to find e-coupons, and I love these promotions they do.

Half off Thursdays

A great way to save money locally is to take advantage of Citadel Broadcasting's Half Off Thursdays. They generally offer gift certificates to local businesses for half off. This week the deal is a $50 gift certificate to Bay Street Station for $25. They've offered a wide variety of gift certificates, check it out every week to see what you can get, though there isn't always a new deal every week. In the past I've gotten a $50 certificate to Serenity Spa and Salon (yay for pampering within a budget!), and a $50 certificate to Meats and Mooore. The meat one was excellent, I was able to stock up on meat at half price.

These deals go live at 9:00 am on designated Thursdays. There's a limited number available, and the hot deals go quickly (within minutes) so you have to be fast. Let me know if you've gotten any great deals in the past.

Sunday (1/23) Coupon Preview

Head on over to Sunday Coupon Preview to check out the coupons that we will possibly receive in the newspaper tomorrow.

There will be one Smartsource insert and one Redplum insert. I noticed that there should be some Ronzini coupons in the SS, I sure hope so, I'm running "low" on free pasta!

How I spent my $20 Amazon card

Since I'm a member of Amazon Mom I get a 15% discount on select diapers (and wipes), plus an extra 15% off for signing up for Subscribe and Save (a program that automatically ships more product to you as often as you sign up for.) So I got this 120 count, size 5 case of diapers for $22.63, shipped. I used my $20 giftcard (that I only spent $10 on) and only spent and additional $2.63 OOP. That's a great price. Even if I hadn't had the giftcard, the pricing is good, especially for not having to step out of my house to buy them.

And, you can cancel the Subscribe and Save option at any time, it's not a commitment. Then next time you need more diapers, you can do the whole thing all over again.

I think Amazon Mom is a great program for any parent to sign up for if you buy brand name diapers or wipes. One of the best parts is that you are automatically signed up for Amazon Prime for free, and qualifying purchases extend the free period. Amazon Prime gives you free 2 day shipping on eligible items (I think it's just the items that ship from Amazon, which most products do.) I usually use free super saver shipping for items, but this is faster and you don't need a $25 minimum. I don't know why I didn't sign up for this sooner!

Game Day Playbook

When you're out shopping, be on the lookout for Guy's Game Day Playbook, a little booklet with recipes and coupons in the back! Inside you'll find:

$1/1 Velveeta 1lb or larger AND 1 can Rotel
$1/2 Packages Philadelphia Cream Cheese
$1/2 Nabisco snack crackers
$1/2 Kraft or Cracker Barrel chunk cheese
$1/2 packages Oscar Mayer deli fresh meats

I found mine near the front of Kroger, near the books, on a large display holding Nabisco crackers. I've also heard these were available at Meijer, I wouldn't be surprised to catch them at Walmart either.

I always make a habit of picking up booklets I see in the store to check for coupons; I almost skipped this one, then I saw the note on top stating $5 in savings.

Need floss?

I was browsing Smartsource and Coupons.com and both sites have coupons for $1/1 Reach floss and $2/2 Reach toothbrushes. Kroger has the floss regularly priced at $1.49, so free with coupon. And if you don't mind cheap toothbrushes, Reach toothbrushes are frequently priced for just a dollar at various stores. If you like the slightly nicer toothbrushes, the drugstores frequently have deals where you can get them for cheap to free with this coupon.

Kroger Special K deal

This week when you buy 4 Kashi Go Lean, select Kellogg's cereals, or Select Kellogg's snack bars at $2.99 each, you can get 3 free half gallons of Kroger milk, lemonade, apple juice or Turkey Hill tea. Go here to get a BOGO Special K cereal coupon, and print it twice. Use the two coupons (note that the free box can only be Original or Multigrain Oats & Honey). So you'll be paying $6 for 4 boxes of cereal and a gallon and a half of milk, juice, etc. Not a bad deal if you like Special K, as this cereal is rarely cheap. At least not the Red Berries variety that my family loves!
